Want to Get Paid to Publish on Amazon Kindle?
Here’s Your Chance…
If you’ve always dreamed of landing a publishing contract with one of the biggest publishers in the world you just might be able to realize your dreams using the Kindle Scout submission.
Amazon created the Kindle Scout program which allows authors to submit new books and get nominated by readers to be published by Amazon in their Kindle Press program.
Why Amazon Pays to Publish Your Book…
One of the biggest problems in getting published is determining whether your book will get enough sales to justify the publishing and marketing costs. As a self publisher the risk is all yours.
Well, Amazon has found a nice way to get a taste for a book’s success by giving the power to Amazon Kindle Scout readers, called reader powered publishing.
As an author you submit your manuscript to Kindle Scout, and providing you have everything needed to get accepted your book will then receive a 30-day nomination period campaign from Amazon allowing readers to view your book and nominate it to get published.
Results in Advance…
By accepting manuscripts to be viewed for nomination for a month on the Amazon Kindle Scout website, books that get a lot of nominations and attention may be chosen by the Kindle Press team for publishing. Amazon is essentially crowd sourcing nominations for books that may do well.
Amazon will even help set up a promotional campaign for the 30-day nomination period for your book’s campaign.
And if you get chosen to be published you stand to earn a royalty of $1500 upfront and get a five year publishing contract for your book.
Who Should Consider Applying to Kindle Scout?
Well this program is pretty new and I am sure Kindle Scout will expand over time, however currently this program is only open to US citizens with a new manuscript in English that has never been published and is over 50,00 words in the following genres:
- Romance
- Mystery & Thriller
- Science Fiction & Fantasy
- Action & Adventure
- Contemporary Fiction
- Historical Fiction
- Literature & Fiction.
Keep in mind you will also need to put in a lot of social media and promotional hours to get your book the attention it needs to succeed in this process. This includes providing Amazon with all the marketing materials needed so they can help your book nomination to get as many eyeballs as possible.
Read the Fine Print Before Applying!
I bet you are excited and ready to go, but before applying make sure you read the fine print. The Kindle Press program (which actually publishes your book) will have control of your ebook, audio book and translated versions of your book rights.
If you want to own all the rights to your Kindle book you may prefer to self publish with Kindle without the Kindle Scout program.
